Biography

My research activities fall under the umbrella of a common theme, phase transitions in soft matter. More precisely, my topics focus on the role of solid surface roughness in shear thinning of foams; liquid evaporation in fibrous materials and under forced convection; and solidification where the morphology is governed by physical chemistry.

Experience

Full time researcher, CNRS
Jan 2017 – Present Orsay, France
I joined the group Soft matter at interfaces in Laboratoire de Physique des Solides in Orsay. At this occasion, I launched new activities related to the role of physical solid surface properties on foam flows. I am also developing new topics related to phase transitions in soft matter.

Marie Curie fellow
Jun 2016 – Jan 2017 Paris, France
During my short stay in Laurent Limat’s group, I finalized collaborative works on the particle transport in drops by diffusiophoresis.

Marie Curie fellow
Aug 2013 – Jun 2016 Princeton, NJ
I spent nearly 3 years in Howard Stone’s group In Princeton. My primarily work was on the drying of colloidal suspensions with a particular focus on the drying stress measurement and the role of solvent absorption by the substrate. I also made experimental studies on the wetting of fibers and the damping of a sloshing motion by foams.

Teaching

Image processing in Python with scikit-image

Two days lecture for PhD students from EDPIF.

Production of scientific images is ubiquitous in many scientific disciplines as they can capture phenomena in a broad range of lengthscales, from the stars to the atom. Therefore, skills in image processing can be advantageous to perform and automate image analysis. This lecture will have a tutorial/workshop format and will mainly focus on the library scikit-image. This course starts from the basics of image processing and opens on cutting edge techniques.
